Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Adi Stern

25.11.2025 17:00 Helmholtz Institute Würzburg, Josef-Schneider-Str. 2/D15, 97080 Würzburg, Germany

We cordially invite you to the seminar by Adi Stern. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.

Prof Adi Stern - "Probing RNA phage MS2 evolution and bacterial defense strategies"

The Stern lab studies the evolution of RNA viruses using a combination of computational biology, mathematical modeling, and experimental molecular virology. This work covers a broad range of viruses, from human viruses (e.g., HIV, SARS-CoV-2) to fish viruses to phages. Some of the goals are to understand how viruses evolve to overcome host defense mechanisms and how viral subpopulations can “cheat” to gain an advantage over the rest of the population. Adi Stern’s talk is titled “Probing RNA phage MS2 evolution and bacterial defense strategies”.
