Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Ellen Zechner
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Ellen Zechner, “Microbiota-derived small molecule genotoxins: Host interactions and ecological impacts in the gut”. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Ellen Zechner - “Microbiota-derived small molecule genotoxins: Host interactions and ecological impacts in the gut”
Research in the Zechner Lab focuses on how healthy gut flora interacts with pathogens such as Klebsiella oxytoca in antibiotic-associated colitis, and on bacterial protein and DNA transfer via type IV secretion systems. Using genetic, microbiological, biochemical and structural methods, the group investigates conjugative gene transfer and the spread of antibiotic resistance, bacterial adherence and biofilm formation on medical implants, as well as infection mechanisms of pathogens including Campylobacter fetus.
