Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Lanying Zeng
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Lanying Zeng. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Lanying Zeng - “Single-Cell Studies of Phage Infection and Implications on Antimicrobial Strategies”
The Zeng lab studies cellular decision-making processes and the roles of deterministic and stochastic factors in shaping developmental outcomes using high-resolution and super-resolution fluorescence microscopy combined with mathematical modeling. In the context of infections with single-stranded RNA bacteriophages, they explore key processes such as the entry of genomic RNA from the phage capsid into the host cell, as well as viral replication and assembly. The ultimate goal is to gain a deeper understanding of these fundamental processes and to engineer ssRNA phages as innovative antibacterials.
