Dr Lionel Navarro - “Extracellular small RNAs in host-bacteria interaction”
Current research interests of the Navarro lab include active DNA demethylation during plant and human immunity, mechanisms by which bacterial effectors interfere with RNA silencing in plants and humans as well as the role of small RNAs (sRNAs) in plant innate immunity. Dr Navarro’s presentation, entitled “Extracellular small RNAs in host-bacteria interaction”, will focus on extracellular plant sRNAs expressed by Arabidopsis thaliana that can influence the pathogenesis of the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae.
