Chunlei Jiao


Chunlei completed his MSc in Microbiology at Shandong University in China in July 2015. He used comparative genome analysis to decipher the genetic variances and underlying molecular mechanism in a highly efficient xylose-fermenting strain of yeast. Prior to joining HIRI, he worked as a project engineer in Singapore applying CRISPR-based tools to engineer yeast. He joined the Beisel lab as a PhD student in 2018 and is currently focusing on advancing CRISPR-based technologies in bacteria. Outside of the lab, Chunlei enjoys spending time cooking, hiking and playing games with friends.
