Daphne Collias

About

Daphne is a visiting PhD student from North Carolina State University (NCSU). She received her bachelor’s degree with honors in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Delaware (UD) with minors in Mathematics, Biochemical Engineering, and Chemistry. During her time as an undergraduate student, she completed research projects and internships at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, University of Crete IESL-FORTH, Princeton University, UD’s Office of Economic Innovation & Partnerships, and Merck & Co. Upon graduating with her bachelor’s, she started her PhD and joined Chase’s former lab at NCSU to enhance the specificity and delivery of CRISPR antimicrobials. She is now a visiting student at HIRI to complete her research projects under Chase’s advisement. Outside of the lab, she enjoys learning German, cooking and traveling.
