Franziska completed her MSc in Biochemistry with a specialization in molecular life science at the University of Würzburg in 2018. During her Bachelor thesis, she studied the regulation of polyadenylation and, within her Master thesis, she worked on dual RNA-Sequencing in mice infected with S. aureus. During an internship in her Masters, she studied co-infection rates and reassortment rates of influenza A in asthmatic cells at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. In 2018, she joined the Beisel lab and is currently working on alternative functions of CRISPR-Cas systems. Outside the lab she enjoys spending her time with friends and exploring other countries.
