Katharina completed her MSc in Biology with focus on oncology and microbiology at the University of Würzburg in 2019. Prior to the master program, she worked on intron-mediated enhancement of protein expression in Nicotiana benthamiana during an internship at the Fraunhofer Institute in Newark, Delaware. She joined the group of Chase Beisel in October 2018 for her master thesis and started working on the characterization of anti-CRISPR proteins. In the future, she will continue to work on anti-CRISPR proteins and focus on their identification using a cell-free transcription-translation system. Outside of the lab, Katharina enjoys bouldering, baking and spending time in nature.
