Oliver completed his MSc in Biology with focus on oncology and tissue engineering at the University of Würzburg in 2019. Prior to his master program he worked on the purification of enveloped virus-like particles for vaccine development against RSV at the Fraunhofer Center for Molecular Biotechnology in Newark, DE. He joined the group of Emmanuel Saliba in 2018 for his master thesis and was trained in bioinformatics for the analysis of single-cell transcriptomics. He started his PhD in November 2019 and will focus his work toward the identification of host factors involved in the susceptibility and resistance to infection. Outside of the lab, Oliver enjoys bouldering, hiking and playing football.
