First Doctoral Disputatio at HIRI

Ehsan Vafadarnejad successfully defends dissertation

May 24, 2017 is the founding date of the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI). Ehsan Vafadarnejad is one of the PhD students from the outset. On July 1, 2017 he joins the HIRI team, which initially grows to twelve employees in the founding year.

At HIRI, Ehsan starts his doctoral project in the Single-Cell Analysis research group with principal investigator and primary supervisor Antoine-Emmanuel Saliba. At Saliba’s lab, he focuses on the implementation and application of bioinformatics methods to analyze and visualize single-cell RNA-seq data.

On August 26, 2021, Ehsan successfully defends his doctoral dissertation. And he already holds a subsequent agreement as a postdoctoral researcher: In March 2021, Ehsan Vafadarnejad has started his work at the Roche Group.

All HIRIs, now about 100 colleagues, congratulate him!
