Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Alain Filloux
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Alain Filloux, “The Pseudomonas aeruginosa type VI secretion system loads and fires antibacterial toxins”. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Alain Filloux - “The Pseudomonas aeruginosa type VI secretion system loads and fires antibacterial toxins”
The Filloux lab studies persistence and chronic infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a gram-negative bacterium found in the environment and an opportunistic human pathogen. Specifically, the lab is interested in molecular mechanisms involved in biofilm formation and type VI protein secretion, two co-regulated processes that are relevant for P. aeruginosa pathogenesis. Prof. Filloux’s talk will summarize regulatory pathways that control biofilm formation and T6SS activity and focus on the search for novel T6SS toxins that can lead to the identification of antimicrobial targets.
