Dr Christian Fröschel

Before joining the HIRI, Christian Fröschel obtained his PhD in 2016 at the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology, University of Würzburg, where he analyzed cell-type specific immune responses in plants. After moving as a Postdoc to the Plant Ecophysiology Department, University of Würzburg, he investigated beneficial plant-microbe interactions, with small regulatory RNAs playing a key role in his studies. He joined the HIRI in May 2024 and supports both the Director and the Head of Administration in many strategic and operational processes. He helps to coordinate graduate programs and is an important contact person at the interface between science and administration.
