Prof Ilse Jacobsen - "Pathogenesis of candidiasis : The impact of bacteria and fungal virulence factors"
Prof Ilse Jacobsen is Professor of Microbial Immunology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. With her research group at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute (HKI), she is investigating the interactions between Candida and the host, aiming at a better understanding of the interactions that lead to pathophysiological alterations. Furthermore, they strive to understand which process in pathogenesis lead to the development of clinical symptoms and lethal disease.
