RNA Seminar Double Bill
We cordially invite you to attend the RNA Seminar Double Bill on Tuesday, February 7. The talks will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 4:30 pm.
Anton Enright & Frédéric Allain
Prof Anton Enright - “Analysis of microRNA expression using direct RNA nanopore sequencing”
Anton Enright is Group Leader at the Department of Pathology and Cambridge Genomic Services at the University of Cambridge. His laboratory works on computational analysis and bioinformatics of gene function in complete genomes. Anton Enright’s group aims to detect, predict and describe the functions of genes, proteins and regulatory non-coding RNAs as well as their interactions in living organisms and their implications for disease. The lab is a multi-disciplinary team using computational biology, bioinformatics and high-throughput genomics to solve these problems.

Prof Frédéric Allain - “FUS RNA binding, phase separation and aging”
Frédéric Allain is Group Leader at the Institute of Biochemistry of the ETH Zürich. His research group aims to understand the molecular basis of splicing regulation, investigates protein-RNA interactions and has contributed several major discoveries both in bacteria and humans. His lab has introduced a number of new methods, many dealing with the application of segmental labeling of proteins and RNA to try to increase the size limit of protein-RNA complexes that can be analyzed by NMR.
