RNA Seminar: Samuel H. Sternberg

10.12.2019 17:00 Würzburg, Germany

We cordially invite you to Samuel Sternberg's talk "Transposon-encoded CRISPR-Cas systems direct RNA-guided DNA integration". The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004 at 5pm.

Prof Samuel Sternberg - "Transposon-encoded CRISPR-Cas systems direct RNA-guided DNA integration"

Samuel H. Sternberg is Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at Columbia University (New York City, USA)

The Sternberg Lab broadly strives to expand our understanding of the ways in which noncoding RNAs conspire with effector proteins to target DNA. Focusing on evolutionarily distinct but analogous systems in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, and using a combination of biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, and genetics, they are uncovering new biological function while simultaneously advancing novel tools with which to precisely manipulate the genome.
