Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Agata Starosta
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Agata Starosta. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Dr Agata Starosta - "Translation in Bacillus subtilis is spatially and temporally coordinated during sporulation"
The Starosta lab is interested in the regulation of bacterial gene expression on the translational level. By employing Next Generation Sequencing techniques including ribosome profiling in combination with molecular biology and biochemical methods, they study how translation of mRNAs can be modulated by the ribosome and associated translation factors. Using the sporulation process in Bacillus subtilis as a model, the Starosta lab identifies and studies factors that determine ribosome specialization and regulate translation efficiency. The title of her talk is ‘Translation in Bacillus subtilis is spatially and temporally coordinated during sporulation’.
