Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Alexander Harms
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Alexander Harms, “Always two they are: Viral strategies to overcome the resilience of antibiotic-tolerant bacteria”. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Alexander Harms - “Always two they are: Viral strategies to overcome the resilience of antibiotic-tolerant bacteria”
The Harms lab studies bacteriophages under conditions that matter in nature or in patients suffering from bacterial infections to identify specialized strategies that different groups of bacteriophages use to infect and overpower their bacterial hosts. Using techniques ranging from advanced molecular genetics to biochemistry and live microscopy, they unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying these infection strategies. This basic research builds the foundation for diverse applications, e.g., engineering bacteriophages with therapeutic impact or building new tools for biotechnology.
