Prof Christophe Zimmer - “Deep learning for microbiology and epidemiology”

Christophe Zimmer joined the Rudolf Virchow Center (RVZ) earlier this year from the Institut Pasteur in Paris. His group combines high-throughput super-resolution imaging with deep learning-based image analysis for phenotypic drug discovery, including the discovery of new antibiotics. In addition, they apply deep learning methods to accelerate single-molecule localization microscopy imaging, with the goal of enabling molecular-scale imaging at high temporal resolution in live cells.
