Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Jesse Zalatan
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Jesse Zalatan, “Gene regulation and metabolic engineering in bacteria with CRISPR-Cas regulators”. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Jesse Zalatan - “Gene regulation and metabolic engineering in bacteria with CRISPR-Cas regulators”
The Zalatan research group seeks to understand and engineer biochemical networks, with a focus on cell signaling, gene expression, and enzymatic biosynthesis. Their basic research efforts focus on the mechanisms that regulate specificity in interconnected cell signaling networks. Their engineering projects span a broad range of topics including metabolic engineering, enzymatic biosynthesis, and CRISPR-Cas tools to regulate gene expression in bacterial and eukaryotic systems. These efforts will help to understand how cells exert precise spatial and temporal control over biochemical reactions and provide new strategies to engineer biological functions.
