Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Martin Pilhofer
We cordially invite you to Martin Pilhofer's talk "Bacterial contractile injection systems: Structure, function, evolution and re-engineering". The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Prof Martin Pilhofer - "Bacterial contractile injection systems: Structure, function, evolution and re-engineering"
The Pilhofer lab is interested in how bacteria interact with other cells, with the goal to establish mechanistic models of macromolecular machines such as bacterial contractile injection systems that mediate these cell-cell interactions. Towards this aim, they integrate information from the molecular to the cellular and intercellular scale, by combining cryo-electron tomography (cryoET) with other imaging techniques and functional assays.
