Würzburg Life Science Seminar: Vorrapon Chaikeeratisak
We cordially invite you to the seminar by Vorrapon Chaikeeratisak. The talk will take place in Building D15, room 01.002-004, at 5 pm.
Vorrapon Chaikeeratisak - "From Bench to Farm: Nucleus-forming Vibriophages and Their Application in Sustainable Aquaculture"
Vorrapon Chaikeeratisak uses bacterial cytological profiling for antibiotic and phage discovery. His lab developed a high-resolution, image-based platform that incorporates advanced machine learning and deep learning algorithms to identify phenotypic changes caused by antimicrobial agents. This enables the prediction of their modes of action and the discovery of novel therapeutic candidates. The platform is also used to analyze bacteria-phage interactions at the cellular level, revealing infection dynamics and resistance mechanisms. Beyond basic research, the lab designs phage therapies to control bacterial pathogens in livestock and aquaculture, reducing reliance on antibiotics and promoting sustainable farming practices.
