Nahyung Ko

Nahyung Ko completed her MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Heidelberg University in 2024. In her master's thesis she studied the spatial distribution of gut bacteria in colorectal cancer tissue and developed an automated fluidic and imaging system. She joined the Westermann group in June 2025 to explore host-commensal-pathogen interactions, specifically how Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron modulates host epithelial responses to enteric pathogens.
