Chia-Ling Chou

Chia-Ling obtained her MSc and Engineering degree in Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology at the École Supérieure de Biotechnologie de Strasbourg (France) in 2019. In her master’s thesis, she characterized the synthesis activity of phage DNA polymerases over modified templates at New England Biolabs in Ipswich, Massachusetts (USA). After working on RNA-targeted drug discovery in the biotech industry, she joined the Saliba lab in January 2023 as part of the HIRI graduate training program “RNA & Infection”. Her PhD project is to investigate the role of non-coding RNAs in regulating host-pathogen interactions using single-cell RNA-seq. In her free time, Chia enjoys bouldering, traveling, and tasting food from all over the world.
