Dr Shafagh Moradian

Shafagh Moradian received her PhD in Biochemistry from Queen Mary University of London (UK) in April 2026. Using single-cell and single-molecule RNA quantification approaches, she investigated how premature transcription termination shapes cell-to-cell heterogeneity and stochastic gene expression in bacteria. In May 2026, she joined the Vogel group as a postdoctoral researcher. Her research focuses on the regulation and localization of bacteriophage PhiKZ mRNAs, with a particular focus on the early stages of infection.
