Dr Alexandria Smart

About

Alexandria Smart obtained her PhD in Chemistry under the supervision of Dr Harry Noller at the University of California, Santa Cruz (USA) in December 2022. Her thesis work consisted of studying the role of highly conserved 16S ribosomal RNA in supporting the translational reading frame during protein synthesis. This previous work has prepared her to continue studying reading frame maintenance and the relevance of frameshifting or recoding during infections in the lab of Jun Prof Neva Caliskan using single molecule techniques.
