Dr Oleg Dmytrenko

About

Oleg holds a Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University. At Harvard he worked with Dr Colleen Cavanaugh to elucidate the inner workings of the enigmatic Calvin cycle from chemoautotrophic bacterial symbionts. Since 2018, Oleg is a postdoctoral fellow in the Beisel Lab. He is investigating the functional diversity and the biotechnological potential of type V CRISPR-Cas systems from uncultured bacteria. Outside of the lab, Oleg is passionate about science communication, disruptive innovation, and outdoor pursuits.
