Dr Suyen Espinoza Miranda

About

Suyen Espinoza Miranda completed her PhD in Biology at Boston College (USA) in August 2023. During her doctoral studies, she developed a method for the long-term study of S. pneumoniae biofilms. She used various genomic techniques to address key aspects of biofilm biology. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a senior scientist at the Central American University in Nicaragua for five years. As part of the MICROSEQ initiative and the Single-Cell Center Würzburg, Suyen will be developing cost-effective methods and pioneering the field of single-cell sequencing in bacteria to support the scientific community. Outside the lab, she enjoys doing CrossFit, dancing, and trying food from around the world.
