Dr Tobias Kerrinnes

About

Tobias Kerrinnes conducted his Ph.D. at the Robert Koch Institute in Wernigerode and received his academic title from the Technical University of Braunschweig. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis (USA) at the School of Medicine. His focus to date has been molecular infection research and specifically pathogen-host interactions. During his time as laboratory head of the Department of Epidemiology at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Braunschweig, Germany, he developed tools and applications that bridge molecular laboratory research and infectious disease epidemiology. Since September 2019, he has been combining his expertise in applied infection research and molecular science with administrative duties as Laboratory Coordinator of the Vogel group. As of March 2024, he is HIRI's Head of Scientific Infrastructure.
