Hannah Schlauch

About

Hannah Schlauch finished her MSc in biosciences at the University of Würzburg in 2023. During her master’s project, which she performed as a visiting student at the University of Edinburgh (UK), she investigated the role of several oligopeptidepermease (Opp) subunits and their influence on the PrfA-dependent virulence gene expression in L. monocytogenes. Afterwards, Hannah worked as a visiting scientist at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh on S. aureus-induced mastitis before joining the lab of Prof Alexander Westermann in late 2023 to start her PhD project on the investigation of metabolic interactions between the mutualist Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron and the intestinal pathogen Clostridioides difficile in consideration of the host.
