Rui Pedro Marques da Costa

About

Rui da Costa obtained his PhD in infection biology at the Hannover Biomedical Research School, Germany. During his PhD, he explored the host factors that drive the response to hepatitis C virus infection, both in vivo and in vitro. Rui da Costa then moved to the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, to investigate the dynamics of RNA-RNA interactions between host RNA and viral RNA of positive-stranded RNA viruses. In March 2024, he joined the Caliskan lab as a postdoctoral researcher, where uses CLIP-like techniques and CRISPR screens to elucidate RNA-based gene regulation in viral-infected cells.
