Élise Bornet receives award at the Mosbacher Kolloquium

At the 75th Mosbacher Kolloquium, the traditional spring meeting of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), Élise Bornet presented her research on the gut commensal Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron. The PhD student at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg was awarded the GBM poster prize, which is endowed with 300 euros.

Élise Bornet joined Alexander Westermann’s lab in 2020. Her PhD project aims at applying single-cell RNA sequencing to bacteria to study the heterogeneity in gene expression of different Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron morphotypes.
