HZI PhD Award for Chunlei Jiao

Member of the Beisel Group has just been awarded

For his outstanding dissertation, Chunlei Jiao has just received the PhD Award of the Friends of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI). His doctoral thesis at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) focused on the development of CRISPR-based RNA detection and recording platforms known as LEOPARD and TIGER. LEOPARD is highly multiplexable, offering the potential to detect a wide range of disease-related biomarkers in a single test. On the other hand, TIGER enables the recording of transient cellular events at the single-cell level.

The PhD Award of the Friends of the HZI

Every year, the Friends of the HZI grant PhD Awards to support young scientists. The awards honor excellent PhD theses in the field of life sciences. Each PhD Award is endowed with 1,000 Euros and is presented during the Hans Herloff Inhoffen Lecture, which takes place once a year.
