Doctoral defense on “RNA-RNA interactions in viral genome packaging”

On December 1, Liqing Ye successfully defended her doctoral dissertation. Liqing joined the HIRI in 2018. She conducted her doctoral project in the Genome Architecture and Evolution of RNA Viruses research group with principal investigator and primary supervisor Redmond Smyth. In the Smyth lab, she developed sequencing-based methods to reveal assembly pathways and structures of ribonucleoprotein complexes important for HIV and influenza virus replication.
