Successful doctoral defense at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg

Shuba Varshini Alampalli has completed her PhD

On October 25, Shuba Varshini Alampalli successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on “Efficient quantification of meta’ome using lightweight alignment”. Shuba joined the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg in 2019. She carried out her doctoral research in the Integrative Informatics for Infection Biology research group, under the supervision of principal investigator and primary supervisor Lars Barquist.

In the Barquist lab, she focused on the analysis and interpretation of RNA-seq data from model organisms of Salmonella infection, specifically investigating the impact of bacterial RNA-binding proteins during the infection process.
