Unveiling TXTL

Workshop at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg

From December 11 to 13, scientists gathered for a three-day TXTL Workshop, exploring transcription-translation cell-free lysate (TXTL), which consists of bacterial cell substrate without the bacterial envelope. Organized by HIRI department head Chase Beisel and supported by PhD students Thomas Gaudin and Charlotte Kamm, the event highlighted the potential of TXTL in protein synthesis, enzyme engineering, and synthetic biology.

The workshop was held in collaboration with the DFG priority programme SPP 2330 “New concepts in prokaryotic virus-host interactions – from single cells to microbial communities”.
