75th Mosbacher Kolloquium attracts numerous scientists

The traditional spring meeting of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM) was held in Mosbach (Baden) from March 20 to 23. This year, the so-called “Mosbacher Kolloquium” took place for the 75th time. The anniversary conference highlighted recent techniques for the characterization and manipulation of complex microbiomes, attracting around 300 participants from around the world.

HIRI Director Jörg Vogel organized the colloquium in collaboration with Ruth Ley from the Max Planck Institute for Biology in Tübingen and Nassos Typas from EMBL Heidelberg.

An interdisciplinary panel of leading international scientists provided an overview of the state-of-the-art research, allowing to chart future developments at the interface of basic science and clinical development. In addition to inspiring lectures, participants had the opportunity to enjoy insightful poster presentations, workshops, exclusive sessions with representatives from academia and industry, and a panel discussion.
