Doctoral defense by Chunlei Jiao on "Reprogramming tracrRNAs for RNA detection and recording"

On October 19, Chunlei Jiao successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. Chunlei joined the HIRI in 2018. He conducted his doctoral project in the RNA Synthetic Biology research department with principal investigator and primary supervisor Chase Beisel. As part of his PhD study, he developed a reprogrammed tracrRNA-based CRISPR technology for multiplexed point-of-care diagnostics.

Since early 2022, he has continued his research as a postdoc in the Beisel group to apply the technology to other CRISPR systems and in vivo settings for disease diagnosis.

Congratulations!
