New @ HIRI: Sudeshna Manna

The HIRI family warmly welcomes Sudeshna Manna.

Sudeshna completed her PhD in Chemical Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER Pune). Her PhD work focused on using nucleoside analogs to probe nucleic acid structures. This work led her to join Ming Hammond’s group at the University of Utah, where she developed RNA biosensors to detect bacterial metabolites and study transporter activity.

At HIRI, she is now starting her work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Beisel lab, where she will be advancing CRISPR-based diagnostics for point-of-care testing.
