European Microbiology in Würzburg
Boards of the European Academy of Microbiology and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies met at HIRI
At the beginning of November, the boards of the European Academy of Microbiology (EAM) and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) gathered at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI). The hybrid event brought together twelve participants from nearly as many countries.
After a brief introduction by EAM President and HIRI Director Jörg Vogel, the group discussed future priorities, strategic directions and upcoming events for both organisations. Among the attendees were FEMS President Antonio Ventosa, FEMS Executive Director Elise Kuurstra and Kenneth Timmis, who will succeed Jörg Vogel as EAM President in 2025.
