The Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) values not only scientific excellence, but also strong teamwork. While all team members contribute to fostering the HIRI spirit, one stood out this year: HIRI PhD student Chia-Ling Chou from Emmanuel Saliba's research group.
Together with Charlotte Kamm from Chase Beisel's lab, Chia organized this year's meeting for all PhD students of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig. The event, held on October 17-18, brought together PhD students from all HZI locations and the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology at the University of Würzburg on the medical campus. Participants had the opportunity to network, collaborate and discuss current and future challenges in PhD research. A special highlight of the event was the “Night Science” workshop led by Itai Yanai from New York University (USA).
For her outstanding commitment, Chia-Ling Chou received this year's HIRI Spirit Award. Britta Grigull, Head of Administration, and Emmanuel Saliba presented the award at the end-of-year scientific symposium.
