Get-together of the Elitenetzwerk Bayern
New members met at the Technical University of Munich
Elitenetzwerk Bayern (ENB), an initiative of the Free State of Bavaria, supports young talents with attractive and coordinated support programs. ENB organized a get-together for its new members on November 9, 2024, at Audimax, Technical University of Munich. Students of various age groups from Bavarian universities with different educational backgrounds took part in the event. As RNAmed is supported by ENB, new members of the program were also invited. It proved to be a great opportunity to interact and socialize with persons having different perspectives on the ways how to make the world a better place.
The event started in the afternoon with a welcome note and discussion of the opportunities that ENB offers at various stages of the career. Some students shared their experience of attending conferences such as Euro Science Open Forum (ESOF 2024), Lindau Nobel Laureate meetings and many more.
A quick coffee break was followed by talks of two alumni of the network, Prof. Dr. Laura Busse, Professor of Systemic Neuroscience within the Division of Neurobiology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Dr. Jan Goetz, co-founder and CEO of IQM Quantum Computers, a Finnish-German startup developing full-stack quantum computers based on superconducting processors. They talked about their academic journey and experiences, which shaped their career thereby inspiring them to excel in their work. It was supplemented by question-and-answer sessions of the students with the speakers. The event finally concluded with a buffet dinner.
