At the Cold Spring Harbor Asia Meeting 2024 in Suzhou, China, Yan Zhu presented a poster titled “KhpB is a major RNA-binding protein in Fusobacterium nucleatum with a role in ethanolamine utilization.” For her outstanding presentation, the PhD student at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) was awarded the CSH Asia Fellowship, which includes a prize of 200 US dollars.
Yan Zhu joined HIRI director Jörg Vogel’s lab in 2019. Her PhD research focuses on the discovery and characterization of RNA-binding proteins in the cancer-associated oral cavity bacterium Fusobacterium nucleatum.
