On May 27, Jakob Jung successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. After completing his MSc in Biotechnology with a focus on computational biology at the Wageningen University (Netherlands), he joined the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) in 2020.
As a member of the lab of HIRI director Jörg Vogel, he worked on programmable, specific anti-sense oligonucleotides (ASOs) to target pathogenic microorganisms.
Congratulations, Jakob!
