Scientists from IMIB, RVZ and HIRI exhibit their creative works

From paintings and photographs to poetry: The lounge on the second floor of building D15 on the Würzburg Medical Campus is currently decorated with several works of art by 15 scientists from the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI), the Institute for Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB) and the Rudolf Virchow Center (RVZ).

The work originated from the “RNArt” project that was initiated by Samuel Carien in 2023. “After realizing that some of my colleagues have a personal connection to art, I wanted to give them a platform to express their creativity,” says the doctoral student at IMIB, explaining his motivation. Together with Vishnu Manoj, a PhD student at the RVZ, he organizes a monthly meeting for artists. Anyone can participate, regardless of age or experience.

The exhibition opening was part of the annual International Dinner, to which participants bring dishes from their home countries. The dinner is organized by the PhD representatives.
