Yan Zhu defended her doctoral dissertation on small RNA associated RNA-binding proteins in Fusobacterium nucleatum

On July 31, Yan Zhu successfully defended her doctoral dissertation. Yan joined the HIRI as an intern in 2019, and subsequently stayed on to pursue her doctoral project in the RNA Biology of Bacterial Infections research group with principal investigator and primary supervisor Jörg Vogel. In the Vogel lab, she focused on discovering and characterizing RNA-binding proteins in the cancer-associated oral cavity germ Fusobacterium nucleatum.

Congratulations, Yan!
