Driving sustainability forward

Sustainable Thursday series launched at HIRI

Sustainable research is one of the tasks that the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) has set itself. The institute aims to continuously improve across all dimensions of sustainability while developing both ecological and social strategies for action. To support this mission and actively engage the entire institute community, the HIRI has launched SUSTAINABLE THURSDAYS.

On May 8, Britta Grigull, Head of Administration at the HIRI, kicked off the event series. The first keynote was delivered by Tobias Kerrinnes, Head of Scientific Infrastructure, on “The new HIRI building: sustainability & new work spaces”. He shared an update on the construction plans and invited all staff to contribute ideas for shaping the new work environment.

The series will continue on May 22 with a talk by Lab & Infrastructure Manager Christiane Albert-Weißenberger titled “Sustainability in everyday laboratory life”.
