Sustainable Research

Second Sustainable Thursday focused on everyday laboratory life

How can researchers integrate sustainable research practices into everyday laboratory work? This was the central question at the second “Sustainable Thursday”, which was hosted by the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) on May 22.

Christiane Albert-Weißenberger, Lab & Infrastructure Manager at the HIRI, took the opportunity to share ways to reduce electricity consumption in laboratories. Together with the attendees, she compiled useful tips and tricks for implementing these measures in day-to-day operations.

The series continues on June 12 with a talk by Britta Grigull, Head of Administration at the HIRI. Her presentation is titled “Sustainability & people: How do we foster a sustainable work environment at the HIRI?”.
