Ann-Sophie Rüttiger has successfully defended her doctoral thesis
Ann-Sophie Rüttiger successfully defended her doctoral thesis on September 23. She completed her MSc in biosciences at the University of Würzburg in 2021. In her master's thesis, for which she conducted research in the laboratory of department head Chase Beisel at the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI), she focused on CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genome targeting in Escherichia coli. Afterwards, she continued her work as a doctoral student in the group led by Alexander Westermann.
As a member of the “Host-Pathogen-Microbiota Interactions” research group, she is dedicated to the identification and functional characterization of RNA-binding proteins in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron.
