Helmholtz Institute Würzburg welcomed guests from Japan

Members of the Faculty of Medicine at Nagasaki University toured the new building

On October 28, 2025, the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI) welcomed distinguished guests from Japan: Kazuya Ikematsu, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Nagasaki University, visited the Medical Campus together with Kenta Masui, Hiroki Ozawa, Yuko Kusumoto, and Hajime Inoue. During a short presentation about the HIRI and a guided tour of the new building by Tobias Kerrinnes, Head of Scientific Infrastructure, the visitors learned about the institute’s cutting-edge research and the construction of its new facilities.

The meeting was part of a visit to the Medical Faculty at the University of Würzburg. Both faculties have been participating in a student exchange program for nearly 30 years. The goal of the visit was to learn about current on-site developments and initiate new scientific collaborations.
